Sugar Cube Temples

We had a FHE with one of our favorite families last week and we were in charge of the activity and we got sugar cubes and made sugar cube TEMPLES! It was so much fun and the work is on FIRE here as we prepare for the Indinapolis temple open house and dedication! It is so exciting!

Freakly Weekly Email

Hey so just so everyone knows Sister Brown has the Juneyear resolution. It is to become the greatest harmonizer who ever lived! Jokes. But I really am trying to figure out how to harmonize to add some fun to our hymns in the morning. This should be an adventure!

Anywho things have been going well here in Indiana. Just walking around in the rain talking to everyone about Jesus. It's pretty entertaining. This week we met a guy with about 4 teeth and he was telling us about how scary movies unleash Satan into your home. (hmm... that's a nice though sir, it's good to meet you too!) So then we talked to him about happy things and how the Holy Ghost makes us feel good inside instead of unleashing Satan.... he said he was going to return the movies to his friend... (alright there! haha) oh the people you meet as a missionary. It's awesome!

This week we also helped pack up one of our favorite families. Their girls are literally my favorites and Sister Hills is one of the Six Sisters (they have a cute blog and cookbooks and stuff) and I just love their family! It was hard to say goodbye to them and let them move to Texas...

Bap Week

We aren't sure why the water was green..... We are going to scrub out the font this weekend... 

Sister Kenison is awesome. Such a powerhouse missionary! She is a really quick learner and we have a lot of fun together.

We played charades with Elder Woffinden before we went and did service on Saturday and Elder Woffinden was being a dead possum. It was pretty great.

Oh and last Monday we had a zone fun day and we had a cook out and then played games and the Elders were fishing and then I kissed a fish because of a dare. It was pretty great. Actually it was pretty nasty. haha (: The picture says it all! That is my district leader Elder Wilcken holding the fish. He is the best haha.

We have zone conference this week! Sure love President Porter.

And I get to Skype for Mother's day! Exciting stuff.

Guess who got to go back to Muncie for Zone Conferences!!!!!! THIS GIRL! Oh my goodness it was the best ever! Driving around Muncie town and President took us out to Concannons and then we had some time in the evening and so I went and stopped by my favorite members in the whole world THE HINDS! And Lillie and Tinsley got new glasses and Sister Hinds said that when Tinsley got her blue glasses she saw them and said that they were "Sister Brown Glasses" (: Oh they are too cute! I loved catching back up with them. They really have been my home away from home.

Reds

This week was crazy busy! We went to the Cincinnati Reds Baseball game this past Monday for preparation day with the mission and it was so fun to see all the missionaries that I haven't seen in forever and to get to talk to them! 

On our way to the game Sister Denison had to go and do something for President Porter in Kentucky and so on Monday I was in three states!! Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky! (: 

This week we also had our mission wide social media split! And it was a huge success! So many pictures got posted to the internet to share what the missionaries are doing and the members bearing testimony. There was even one picture that my zone leaders showed me today that Elder Bednar had asked about! That made my whole day!

And today was transfer calls and I was feeling a little nervous to leave because I have been in Muncie my whole mission... But Sister Brown is STAYING! I don't even know what I am going to do when I have to leave this place. It is just home. And I am so excited to continue working with Sister Driesel in this area. We have our friend Caroline on date for the 27th of this month! And she is doing so great! 

Also on the 27th is the General Women's broadcast and I am SO excited for that since it will be my first one! I was in the MTC when the first one was broadcast and they saved it for the following week to show to the Sisters when the Elders were watching the Priesthood session but then we flew out and never got to see it. And I am SO excited for General Conference as well!

This week has just been a week of miracles! I love being a missionary! Have a great week everyone!

Take Me Out To The BALLGAME!

Hey family! So this will be short because President Porter has arranged for the whole Ohio Cincinnati Mission to go the the Cincinnati Reds baseball game tonight!! Which means that we have to drive down to Cincinanti! I am so excited to go! 

And the work here is going great! So much is going on and it is great to hear from all of you! Happy Birthday to Kai Brown this week too! If you see the best little brother in the world please give him a HUGE hug for Sister Brown! 

Things are going great here in Muncie Indiana! We are still teaching Caroline and Diane and yesterday Caroline came to church and loved it and also we talked to her about quitting her coffee addiction and she really felt the spirit and knows that it is something that the Lord is going to help her to do! 

This is Sister Bigham who is my Indiana Grandma. She reminds me a TON of Grandma Carol. And she is always doing missionary work with us and is HILARIOUS! I just love her so much!

Reporting for Duty!

Today we are disneybounding as Pain and Panic from Hercules! Sister Driesel is brilliant and came up with it! So of course the quote: "Pain! And Panic! Reporting for duty!" has been in my head all day long! 

Being a missionary is awesome!

I hope you all know that #catnation is a thing here in Muncie. Calls are always ended with a meow. And we talk about cats frequently. I am leaving my pawprint here in Muncie for sure. All the cat shirts and cat memes and cat hangers had to eventually leak out into the whole Muncie North Zone!

It is a beautiful thing.

Zone Conference

Hey so this week we had zone conference and President Porter and Sister Porter are just amazing! I learned so much about the doctrine of Christ and how I can change and become more like my Savior. 

This week we are working on getting our friend Diane moved out of the house she is staying in, so that she can start living the law of Chastity and be baptized at the end of the month! We are meeting lots of new and exciting people each day and I love sharing the gospel!

Fun Fun

Today's Disneybounding (preparation day edition) is brought to you by moms who are freaking awesome and send you pants that you wanted before your mission but were too chicken to buy them because you were going to be wearing skirts for a year and a half. They are the best pants in the world. And so today I am Jasmine. Magical Monday.

Today we are having a zone day fun day and so that should be good. Elder Carter was transferred last week and Elder Barfuss is my new zone leader along with Elder Chamberlain who stayed. They are both awesome. I will miss Elder Carter though. That Elder helped me through a ton. 

So this week we walked past the "Happy House". On our way from a member's house to an appointment that we had. It has all of these animal statues out in the front. Painted bright yellow and they have smiley faces all over them. It is the coolest house ever and I bet that inside it is a bouncy house or something. 

So something that I have been thinking a lot about lately and since I can't think of anything else to write about you can read about this. President Porter challenged us to read through the Book of Mormon with our companion and mark references to Christ in red, if then statements in blue, instances of faith like the ancients in yellow and the doctrine of Christ in green. It is the coolest and most revelatory way to study the Book of Mormon. I would encourage anyone and everyone to study it this way. Christ is referenced all over the place and it truly is a book that testifies of Him. 

I know that this gospel is a gospel of change. I know that I can be better tomorrow that Christ can help me to become what He needs me to be. What He knows I can be.

Funcie Muncie!!

So transfer calls were this morning and I AM STAYING IN MUNCIE! So is Sister Driesel and I am so excited! For the next six weeks I can keep building the kingdom here! We have some sweet friends we are working with and I just love them! 

So here is a funny story that I think of and it makes me laugh. Brother Stong. He goes out with the Elders teaching all the time and is the funniest man alive. One time the Elders got a text and they were really excited because it was a media referral! But then they read through it and realized that Brother Stong had referred Abraham. His dog. Abraham really wanted a Finding Faith in Christ DVD. Man he kills me! 

So this week has been full of God's grace! It has been amazing to see what we can accomplish through Heavenly Father and his power. He loves all of us and wants us to succeed. He did not send us here to fail. He will help us and all we have to do is ask. 

President Porter opened up our fast on Saturday with a POWERFUL prayer that really carried us through the fast and helped us to see even more miracles. I know that fasting is a way to receive revelation and to see God's power in your life. 

Also if any of you reading this have not watched the mormon message "The Hope Of God's Light". Go watch it. It is the most artistic mormon message I have seen and it invites the spirit so strongly.

Muncie Island

BIRTHDAY SHOUT OUTS! So hey! Dallin Solomon, you had a birthday yesterday and I hope it was the best day of your life! And this Saturday is a birthday SHOUT OUT to the BEST MOM EVER! Seriously, anyone and everyone reading this... if you see my mom give her a HUGE hug for me! Because she is the best ever! And it is her BIRTHDAY! 

So this week has been fantastic! So last Monday our district went to Muncie Island. Which is some guy's backyard that he transformed into an island paradise! It is a sandy beach and has relax chairs and a waterfall and he serves smoothies. This guy is on island time though and opens roughly around 5pm. Which is cutting it close for missionaries who are not on island time and begin proselyting at 6pm. We went and it was magical. The mango smoothie with ice cream that I got was heavenly. That is the most relaxed I have been in a while (: 

This week we also packed a lunch in our cooler and ate at a park while we were out and about and at the park it had this ancient looking merry-go-round thing. The only other place I have seen one at is the park in Malad Idaho. So of course after we ate I hopped on that and spun myself around! It was so much fun. I love those things!

And on Saturday we went and did some service in the community and Elder Carter showed me how to use a chainsaw! It was pretty sweet and everyone still has their limbs and everything so that is good. Elder Carter looks pretty concerned in the picture... he was worried I was going to swing it down and chop off my leg...

We had a sweet miracle with a part member family. Sister W is less active and she is so hilarious though and the sweetest lady. We have been teaching Brother W for a while and when we taught him on Saturday about the Plan of Salvation again, something "clicked" and a lot of it made more sense than it had before. He is so awesome and the prayer he said at the end was totally him talking to our Father in Heaven. He asked if he should be baptized and was really looking for an answer in his prayer. And tonight they are coming to dinner at the relief society president's house! It is going to be awesome!

Oh and if you haven't watched the mormon message "Earthly Father, Heavenly Father"... you should get on that. Our zone leaders showed it to us and it pumps you up to 

1. be a dad

and

2. own a farm!

Attitude of Gratitude

Hey family! So this week here are some things I am grateful for!

5. Farm Fridays!:We go and help Charles out on his farm on Fridays and it is the best thing ever.

7. P. She was a complete miracle and she came to church with us yesterday! And the lesson we had with her on the restoration of the gospel was such a powerful spiritual experience! She is awesome! And her baby son G is adorable!

8. Vietnamese-English dictionaries: we are teaching L and she doesn't speak very good English but she is so prepared and awesome! The dictionary and the spirit help us to communicate.

9. The Ensign: Seriously if you haven't read through "Becoming Perfect in Christ" by Elder Gerrit W. Gong go and read it! And just look at the picture "Light of the World" by Howard Lyon. Gorgeous. My new favorite picture.

10. Primary Activities: we got to help out with the pioneer primary activity they had this week for Pioneer day this week and it was so much fun! We got to help the kids shake up and make butter... my arms are still sore because a lot of the kids got sick of shaking them... But it was so much fun!
